Count every day to citizenship.

CitizenDays logs your trips and counts them the way Australia, Canada and the UK count them for citizenship and settlement, with the Schengen area's 90 days in 180 built in. See the first day you can apply, and every limit before you book.

Four rules, counted the official way

Each rule counts travel days the way its government does, and shows the official source with the date we last checked it.

Australian citizenship

4 years living in Australia, the last 12 months as a permanent resident, no more than 12 months away in total and no more than 90 days away in the last year.

The day you leave and the day you come back count as days in Australia.

Canadian citizenship

1,095 days in Canada in the 5 years before you sign. Days before permanent residence count as half days, up to 365.

The day you leave and the day you come back count as days in Canada.

IRCC: eligibility

UK settlement (ILR)

No more than 180 days outside the UK in any 12 months of your qualifying period. You can apply up to 28 days before it ends.

Only whole days away count; the day you leave and the day you land do not.

GOV.UK: continuous residence

Schengen 90/180

No more than 90 days in the Schengen area in any 180. Checked on every day of your stay, and now recorded at the border by the Entry/Exit System.

The day you enter and the day you leave both count as days of stay.
